Found this metal object that has a shield with knights head.
It measures 4" X 3 1/2".
It looks like it might be brass and maybe silver plated.
I thought it was an ash tray at first but after cleaning it I saw that it wasn't.
The back has "made in USA" and what looks like "lauld", but I'm not sure. The letters are very small.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can we see the back? Try to take a closeup of the lettering, it will give us searchers something to google. ;D

Picture of back

Here are some pictures of the back.
The letters are about 1/32 inches high. Very hard to see. I would not have seen them if I would not have been using an eye loupe.
Hope this helps.

I know I've seen that somewhere, but I can't remember where. I think it might be a Radiator emblem. I looked at a few Willy's-Knight emblems and it wasn't there... but I'm thinking that might be what it is.

This one is for the 48 lincoln, that might be what I remember..

I think I remember a D.L. Auld & company that made mostly chrysler emblems, but they did make emblems for a lot of people as well, so it could be something like a bicycle emblem as well.

History of the D. L. Auld Co. http://www.auldco.com/history_extended_info.php

1912
Demas' son, F. Howard Auld invented a snap-on fastener that was practical for use on the back of large emblems and insignias. The first application came when Henry Ford asked if it would be possible to attach a name plate emblem to his horse-less carriage.

1920
The auto jewelry business grew to employing more than 150 women in the enameling department. The client list grew to: Marmon, Lexington, Revere, Hupmobile, Locomobile, American-La France, Elcar 8, Oakland, Pan American Motors, Peerless, Erskine, Paige, Abbott, Reo, Cole, Westcott, Dodge Brothers, Lincoln, Cadillac, Commonwealth, Flint, Chevrolet and Wolverine. At one point the company produced 80% of all the vitreous enamel name plates for the automobile industry.

steif deserves an assist here as well. I just noticed he connected D.L. Auld & company with Chrysler at about the same time I was posting my findings. I didnt see his modifying when I posted, that he had already made the Chrysler/Auld emblem connection.

Thanks everyone for IDing this for me.
You all are a great help !!!
Even though it's not silver plated, it's still a cool find for me. They don't make car emblems like that anymore.
I'll be going back to see what else turns up there.
