here is pic for all skeptics. You can remove your foot from your mouths now . the cyn coastal cyn this was found is hisorically known that francis drake amoung others explored. I am just trying to find out how to get this authinticated. I dont have the right type of camera to get a clear pic. If you notice the pewterball on top when rotated shows numerous faces on it.Seems like there are many people that think I am not telling the truth on this web sight. I apoligize for the rude comment. you should look at my responses. I would really appreciate some help of where in Ca I could take it to verify or mabe someone who would know about this . could be an expert on armor made in Toledo Spain. Please be patiant with me. This item is very hard to make out without seeing it. From what I have found out is that its more likely a letter or boot dagger. This statement is forthe people that keep writing the rude comments. What if you had found this would you like it ifyou were trying to get info but all you got was ridicule. What ever happened to the golden rule

Need better pics, I don't see what your seeing, looks like a corroded medieval toilet plunger to me

So to take a foot out of the mouth you will have to ahhh, how you say? Show the proof :tongue3:

I dont care if you found the crown jewels, and corteses personal chef. Show some respect and you may be respected in return.

Sorry, you will definitely need better pics......close ups of the writing would be a good start. You should understand that people post things on here sometimes that are just unbelievable, and obviously fake...(look for Japanese gold in the Philippines) We will do our best to help, but we need good clear close up photos in order to even get started.

Life's way too short...

just delete all of this, please.

Carl

Hmmmmmm new member with only two posts? And pulls a Herrrnan/ if thats how it's spelled? from 1534? I have one of those in my tackle box too! that reminds me....I left my worms in my car!

Here ya go, the info you requested:

http://www.theappraiserofchoice.com/

After its verified and has been turned over (or seized) to the state and/or federal government you should
still retain the story and book rights

Give us a link to the newspaper story :icon_thumright:

Would you like me to copy this to the other, knife, letter opener, threads you created? Don't want you to miss this info. :tongue3:

most people forgot, but welcome to tnet :hello:

Have a great day

Jeep: I think you have that one fully covered. And quite graciously.

Now, my turn: Rude comments? Not happening, yet. Letter opener? I hate those triple gummed envelopes they developed in the mid 1500's. Used them in the Inquisition as torture devices. Don't need any stinking letter openers, they used wax seals.

The golden rule was taken, no... stolen, from the Aztecs, by Cortez, sent back to Spain, and melted.

Welcome to t-net! There's two ways you can get better pictures without buying a new camera. Best is to have a friend take pictures with a camera that has the excellent close-up option which most digital cameras now have. If that's not possible, you can get good pictures simply by placing the knife on a scanner, covering it with a soft cloth to eliminate extra light, then scan the knife in several positions and post it here --- scanners can give excellent detail. As I live in California, can read Spanish and love history, I definitely want to see the close-ups! Andi

Spell check would probably make people more apt to take what you type more seriously...

I can over look bad typing and weird spelling---not that big of a deal. But when the wording seems "broken" when trying to describe the item, and becomes perfect and pointed when the naysayers are being castigated, I start to wonder, and have doubt about a "English as a second language" person. (See the last 3 lines of the first post) God bless all those who add to this hobby that do not have perfect English. Not a problem. But, like on the other post this person has, if you have to put "this is not a scam", well................

What ever happened to the guy that found 7 museum quality Virginia belt buckles and rare buttons every day? Those finds became wilder and wilder every day.

pic of the handle?? I can't tell what the bottom pic is, but the ball on the end looks pretty good. The best way to find someone to authenticate it is to find an expert in antique arms and armour. It doesn't have to be an expert in spanish made armour, those guys know about pretty much any kind of old weaponry. Put some better pics up though, those don't do much good. Not trying to be rude, but get a shot of the whole knife and a shot of the just the handle. Did you find that in Cali??

Stop, please, think of the children.
