I found this in an area inhabited during the late 1700's.? It appears to be of some type of white metal and is slightly melted on one side.? It was found in a fire pit area.? Looking at others it appears to be a knee buckle from the late 18th century.? Does anyone have any other information or ideas.? It is approximately 1 and 3/4 inches from end to end? ?Thanks...Lance
