King's Orange Ranger button!!!
Got off work a little early so hit a site that I havn't been to for some time. Only dug this button and one musket ball. I cant believe it but I have dug my first Loyalist button. This is a King's Orange Ranger button! In Don Troini's book Insignia of Independence this button is listed as LKOR.d. You can barely make out the K O and R but the crown and wreath is plain as day. I immediately sprayed this button with clear satin polyurethane as soon as I walked in the door. The back has a mold seam but the shank is gone. As you can tell I also put it in a protective coin holder to further prevent it from damage. A few specimens have been found in South Carolina but this is the first I have ever heard of being found in Virginia! I can't believe I found this button!!! HH Devonrex
