Yesterday I did a little sifting at the site where I recently found two USA buttons. I don't want to be greedy but it would be nice to find another one. 11 feet from where a USA button came from I found this little guy. It's 17 mm one piece brass with this around the bust; LUD . XV . D .G . FR . ET . NAV REX . It reminds my of one favorite finds - King Louie X1V Enema button! Have any of you button guys seen the one I just found?

Cant say I ve seen one like that . one thing for sure I would not want to be that dude on da receiving end. He already has a dunce cap on

Seen similar, I believe its 1 half of a cuff-link. (the clue is the flatten shank for starters, your missing a couple of chain links or 1 large link to the missing button) They are copying coins. This one is copying an 18th C French Coin & the cufflink is circa late 18th C.

Whats the image from the right from? (another button)

Thanks Crusader that makes sense. The same site gave a set of Spanish coin cuff links (sleeve buttons) This explains the latter:laughing9:

That’s an interesting button

Thats one of the coolest buttons Ive seen Sweet

That must certainly be one of the most unusual scenes depicted on a button or link. Why on Earth would the maker use that image? Great find and quite the conversation piece. Congrats!
