Kick ass digging knife.....

Where do you get those?...Im in Florida and with the loose sand here it looks like that would work well...many places here where the sand is so loose you cant cut a plug.

Sent a pm on digger. They do work well in loose soil where you can't cut plugs, as well as in good dirt to cut plugs. I rarely use the Lesche digger since trying one!

We dug with old bayonets for years. They cut most excellent plugs. Do not even worry about sharpening it. I also carry a shovel for those extra large excavations

Do you think I'll have an issue popping the plug out with this knife because it's not very wide?

Nope the idea with a knife or bayonet is to stick it in at an angle towards your target then leaving it in cut in a full circular motion and out pops the plug. If the target is not in the plug you now have a hole you can dig out. It to me is better on a lawn than I think my Lesche.
I was able to purchase 3 or 4 of the swiss Victorinox (sp?) bayonets with frogs. They are a little longer than yours and serve me well
Good luck in your hunts!

Thanks. Now I'm wondering if I wasted my money because I'd like to hunt Civil War relics - which means, typically no lawns...

Hello ponz! Another kansas citian here. I would say you didnt wasted your money. You will just need a shovel as well. Then you could poke around in the hole with the knife if you need too

You won't have an issue cutting a shallow plug but removing anymore dirt to go deeper won't be near as easy as using a sod cutter or digger like shown above.

That's a Glock field knife if I am not mistaken. Very good survival knife. Oh and Chris - a file would skate right off that knife. You'd need a sharpening stone. 8-)

I agree. ot has the Glock logo on the handle and blade ! I would like to grab one !
