I hit an old local park and was able find a few keepers. I first pulled out a 1932 San Francisco mint quarter in an area that I've been over a couple of times in the past. Unfortunately I am not too familiar with key dates so I just tossed it in my pocket, not knowing what I had. I'm sure I scratched it but there is nothing I can do about it now.

I also was able to find an 1897 dime and an old College of Piping pin. From the little research I did it appears that the pin is from a bagpipe school in Glasglow, Scotland. Not too bad for a couple of hours at a heavily hunted park. It goes to show there is always something left to find.

Amazing finds friend! A great day indeed!

Its great to see a low-mintage Washington Quarter posted. Not many will ever find a 1932-S, and you pulled it off. Congrats!

Congrats on the great find! That's the first 32-S Washington I ever recall seeing posted... Continued success to you!

Those are great finds!

That really is a key date. Congratulations!

Great find on the 32S quarter. Don't worry so much about the condition or that you may have scratched it a bit. Being buried in the dirt for many years has already taken it's toll on the condition of the coin. Just rejoice in the fact that you now own such a great coin and found it yourself.

Thank you all. I'm certainly going to brush up on my knowledge of key dates so at least I can be a bit more educated on coins. Although I probably will never sell any of my finds, it still gave me a sinking feeling when I realized that I may have hurt the value of it a bit due to something that was preventable. At least I'm thankful that I didn't gouge it with my digger!

great finds!!

Sweet finds!

I know the silver catches most people's fancy, but I am really liking that pin. Oddities and unique items are great to find. Apparently at this school, any lad or lass from Scotland that wished to learn could not be turned away because of a lack of money. Great finds!

Awesome silvers. I have yet to find a barber
