SPAIN, Sexsi. Circa 200-150 BC. Æ 25mm (11.26 g, 4h). Head of Herakles-Melqart left; club on shoulder / Two fish left. CNH p. 105, 13; SNG BM Spain 415. Fine, brown surfaces.
The site of Sexsi or Sexi is the ancient name for modern Almuñécar. Located on the Southern Spanish coast south west of the Solorius Mons (the modern Sierra Nevada mountain range). The fish: tuna.

I was looking at this and its really similar but I don't think any of mine have writing between the two fish, so I did a search on Google maps for the place that is listed and its maybe 200 miles further down the coast from where I lived.
That tells me that even though similar coins were made all across Spain, they differed by the region where they were actually minted I guise..
If you want to Google where I found mine, it was in Andalucia, close to Cadiz, El Puerto De Santa Maria around the Navy base in Rota, all the way down to Chiclana on the other side of Cadiz.
(supposedly the longest continuously inhabited city in Europe)
When I was there we called these coin Gadiz coins, I always thought they were early Roman, but I think Don said they were actually Carthaginian coins maybe ? I have a very few coins with the actual words "Cartago" on them, obviously Carthaginian.. but we never thought these were..
Thanks Don !
