LOL...best random thought yet!!I like turtles.
Careful about using heat as it can change the hardness/toughness/brittleness of the steel. Might be better to drill it out.It turns out my wife is pretty darn smart. I was putting a new handle on a pick today. Unfortunately she is sick and was trying to sleep on the couch. I cut the handle off but even though it was loose I just couldn't beat the rest of it out of the head. Not really a quiet project but I was enjoying myself. So she came out to see what the heck I was doing. She took one look and said just burn it and went back in. I was speechless..... What a great idea! So I threw it in the fire pit squirted lighter fluid in the cracks and started a little campfire over it. Went inside had lunch came back and it was good to go. Didn't wake her up again until I put the new handle on.

Gold count to follow...
3 hours! I'm impressed. That's a lot of digging on a cold winter day I got out again for an hour or so after work (well, technically in between since I have a two hour meeting tonight). Still not as much creek time as you :Pme too! its hard to type when im shoveling. lol well it was more like 3hrs
Dude, there's gold in Cherry creek all thru town. I've found gold in the creek where Colorado Blvd crosses it and down in LoDo. The gold comes from Douglas county so it's ALL thru town! Time to start searching, sampling and getting at it.I love that you guys can get out on your lunch break. I work 2 blocks from Cherry Creek in Aurora, but I'm not familiar with these waters at all. I commute by bike on the Cherry Creek Path -- from REI to the reservoir -- and I've never seen anyone prospecting.
Nice...your just jealous but don't worry, you're one of the cool kids too ;-)had a red ear slider & chinese box turtle...
