Wow! Those are hard to come by. Was this at a Confederate site? Any idea on the date of this button? Rest of it not in the hole?
 

Came out of a plowed corn field.the back half could be anywhere. South of grants canal.

Kool! Hogge Tices....KY200A2 SUPERFIN/PARIS Kentucky Militia General use. Scoville employed the backmark on this button, to avoid prosecution for supplying buttons to the southern states during the civil war.

Still a great button though even if it is damaged. I've only dug two kentucky buttons and they were both in the same hole, glad MDers still finding em.

Thanks guys. It was fun recovering it. I also found a 1917 mercury dime, 2- V nickels, 2 Indian head pennies & 2 wheats. At the same spot.
