Well, I'm back across the pond trying to find places to swing the old coil. Got to a few places and found the normal stuff - coins from the 1600's, lead bale seals, coin weights, buckles, thimbles, and THIS!!!

What in the world is it and what is it doing by a windmill in Holland?????

Got the Coronet head -yep. Got the 13 stars - yep. And then there is the back. ?????

HELP!!!!!

Daryl

Too thick and heavy for a jeton. Maybe somebody would make a pin from one, don't know.

But the US Liberty head and 13 stars?? and 13 more on the back???

Yep.

If you have cats, you know that no outfit is complete without cat hair and if you try to do anything, anywhere, they will help.

I bring 3 to Amsterdam.

There are letters beneath the liberty head but I haven't figured them out yet. Still cleaning a bit.

There was something on the back. It looks like a pin in a type of mount where it would swivel.

Look at the spielmarke and you'll see Plenty of liberty heads and stars.

Buckleboy is correct about Liberty Head spielmarke gaming counters with stars. http://www.treasurenet.com/treasures/askmarkparker/200411.htm

Yours looks like it was worn as a pin.

Cool. But what's the thing on the back?

I really can't find much of anything on them. How about a few links Buckleboy.

Thanks,

Daryl

Daryl,

They are probably listed in a book somewhere along with the German Jetons...but I don't know what this resource might be called. I just google search them (spielmark (s.) spielmarke (pl.) ) and see what comes up--and yes, we're at the mercy of what happens to be selling online at the moment.

:dontknow:

There is a famous Jeton with a wheel on it--and there were probably other contemporaneous similar designs. (the "UFO" jeton)
