I find these darn things often around houses. They are usually folded up, but the other night I found this one and was able to bend it straight. Can anyone tell me what in the heck this is?

I wonder if it was part of a nail........like a "simplex" nail used to nail down felt "tar" paper?

It somewhat reminds me of a piece from a spinning firework.

Yup fireworks, I burned up quite a few of them back in the 70's
They might have been called helicopters or buzz bombs or buzzing bees
or something on that order. Lay them on a flat surface, light and run.
They would fly maybe 50 feet into the air then run out of fire.
If you layed them upside down they just spun circles on the ground.
I think the equivalent in todays fireworks have plastic fins now.

Geez guys and girls. It's an aluminum 4 leaf clover. Whomever finds it is guaranteed to find it cousins. Thousands of them. I think they are called pulltabs or poptops or something like that. Fantastic find. You will be blessed forever. ;D

Daryl,

I actually thought of that. I have been calling them aluminum 4 leaf clovers for awhile. I will let you rub it sometime if you want. Oh....75 cents per rub.

Thanks anyway BB. I don't rub anything I don't find myself. And I've been told you can get in trouble if you pay to rub. ;D
