I doubt it. it is rather strong rock stone.
Also ...
The layers I did not find ceramics. It is completely absent (due to lack of clay). People used wooden and birch bark utensils.
The water was heated by a round stone is not large diameter (I call them "a reboiler"). Beside each hearth was the accumulation of stones "a reboiler". Stones heated to a good temperature and placed in a wooden bowl with water, began to boil water.

I understand there are some quite large Brown bear in your area to hunt. Of course that would be quite an adventure.

There is quite a bit of obsidian in Idaho as well, I am just starting to learn where it is sourced from.
