Looks similar to the 'three crosses on top of a hill' symbol. Where'd you find it?

I don't think its KGC. I would guess more likely Spanish.

I have seen a lot of KGC signs and never anything like that. It could be it just doesn't look like it. The KGC was big into coordinates especially 33 degrees and symbols like animals, hearts, turkey tracks, daggers. The 1874 with the dots looks like KGC and since its printed on a block of lead I would guess its a marker. I would say that the 1874 symbol is an overlay for a topo map but if you don't know where the marker block was dug up and how it was sitting in the ground at the time its going to be difficult to find a target.

If you know the general area where the marker came from then I would take an LRL out there and see if you get a hit. Most people dig up markers and then just toss them aside or take them home and don't pay attention to which way they were pointing or how they they were buried.

No an overlay just means that the whole figure would line up with something on the topo map. I don't know what state you are in and its just a thought but maybe if you are out in OK or AZ or NM that symbol of the crosses on the hill might be a brand. So if you located the ranch where that brand is used it might be near the area where the treasure is. The KGC were active in those 3 states especially AZ. If you can locate the area you can get old topo maps and then look at them to see if anything like the 1874 symbol jumps out at you.

Would this symbol be telling you to go a short distance to a resting place or to go a short distance from the resting place you are already at along the trail? Any ideas on that?
Thanks Baker

O.K. , This is an exact drawing of a lead cross 1/2" thick by 3" tall. It is K.G.C. without a doubt. Can anyone out there break this code? It was found late in the treasure trail I am on, and I am sure it is a crucial instruction. Please help me break it, I have melted down trying to get this piece figured out.
Any input is greatly appreciated, L.C. BAKER
