been a member for awhile, but don't think I introduced myself.....
I'm more of an amateur historian, but as I've seen here, I learn a lot from
some of your findings and I believe, you may be able to learn a lot from mine.
Spent a lot of time in the Southwest region, Baja California, Owens and Death Val areas.
Talked to many locals and firmly believe its all about 'boots to the ground"
I don't think you can surprise me with a 'desert ship' story

Safe Travels to all

Thanks for the 'welcome backs'

Welcome Westy !!
Any truth to the legends of bullion losses in Owens Lake (back when it was a lake)?
Don........

My focus near the lake isn't the silver in it, its the 'druid' inscriptions around and near the lake, as well as the fishing in that Owens river :) (and that damn 'coso rock/artifact" they found. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coso_artifact too bizarre! )
Again, I'm more of an historian then a TH, BUT I'm always happy to share what I know, which aint much.

Enlighten me to which steamship and what year, sir, because as far as I know, both ships were, basically running until 1882
when both got sidelined (all documented) and it would stand to reason that anyone raising a ship in shallow water would grab the bullion

You don't know, what you don't know until you know it, right?
