Along comes this very nice cat person to invite me on something I haven't truly done in many, many years! An *actual* Civil War hunt!

Oh sure, I've been stumbling thru some cornfields, kind of "relic" hunting. But not an actual hunt in a place proven to be civil war oriented.

We met up on the hottest day of this year....so far. My host and a couple of the friends of the host made me just as welcome as I have ever been!

The place was *AWESOME*. I had a keeper on my very first dig!
and it just got better! I had so much fun! Trouble was, I wore out before the hunt finished! :(

I would LOVE to walk that place some more!

Ok...nuff preliminary.

Here's what I found:

My personal "star" of the day!

I think Fishy shows more class in his choices
every day! ;)

Note: After our hunt finished I was beat!
But, after about an hour and a couple of "Big Macs",
I felt a lil stronger. So, on the way home, I stopped by
one of my clad-farms for an hour. :tongue3:

All of the coins were from there! :)

All in all, a WONDERFUL day! Good finds!
Good friendly colleagues in hunting! If this
is my finish to field hunting for the summer
I couldn't have planned a better finish!

My humble thanks to a most gracious host, smokeythecat.
I hope to return the favor! SOON!

Yes, you hunted the same place. Targets are getting thinner. We had to really think out of the box for Saturday. I walked over both the breastplate Hugh found and his seated quarter at least 5 times. Every time I tell the story I'll have to add something to the number of times I stepped over it. I was literally spinning in circles near where I found my minie balls. Must have missed his quarter by an inch or so several times. Like I say, miss it by an inch, miss it by a mile.

I was gonna say something but I figured you already knew. Ya see, you have a slight slice in your swing. Tends to cause a bit of a zig zag swing. Now, if you'd just keep your head down, interlock your fingers and FOLLY-THRUUU!!! You might cover that extra inch!

:tongue3::laughing7:
