Hi everyone!

I'm just getting started and thanks to the information on this site, I hope I read it right, I've ordered an ACE 250 with all the little trinkets that go along with it. I lost my wedding band and I'm hoping to find it and gain a new hobby along the way. I've never done any MD before, but I love history and old stuff so it seems like a great fit!

Any advice?

Small world isn't it. I live in Birmingham but go down to Orange Beach regularly, at least I did before Hurricane Ivan came through last year. It's been almost a year since we last went down there. My family's got a condo down there and it's still being reparied. I hear things are really quiet down there and I'm hoping to go this summer. Perhaps there'll be all kinds of stuff in the State Park as a result of the Hurricane.

Well I went out and dug some in my yard yesterday. I can't walk three feet without a beep. My yard must be filled with trash. I am impressed with the abilities of the ACE 250 to locate things. I found a lead pellet about six inches deep. I'm talking about one of those little pellets that shoot out of a kids air gun. I was rather impressed with myself for finding it. 8) I also found the handle to a kids toy gun and some scrap nails and hooks.

I do seem to be havings some trouble finding the things my detector identified. I finally called it a day after I dug a hole about two feet in diameter and a foot deep without finding what my detector was beeping at. :-\ I did find a peice of terra cotta pottery in that hole. Looked like a peice of pipe. How long does it take to get to where you can quickly dig the item up? ???

Glad you got to go out and play! I know when I first got my MD, one of the first things I found was an old sewing needle out in the woods! Took me 30 minutes of sifting through the dirt to figure out what it was beeping at! :D ...And you better be careful not to dig the septic! :D That could be bad!

Nana ;)

That peice of terra cotta pipe I found...I thought it might be part of an old sewer line! At least I hope it was old! ::)

Hi, yall know I live in Huntsville. I also have a condo in Perdido Key 1/2 mile from Orange Beach which was also damnaged by gay Ivan.
