Just found another large cent and an old button w/ star on it- in my yard

At least I think it is a large cent. There isn't a single feature left on it on either side, but it is the same size as the other 3 I have. Could it be anything other than a large cent?

I also found this button with a star on it...anyone have any ideas what it is?

Looks like a "dandy" button, and the coin does look like a large cent, but could be a British one rather than American. You must have a nice yard, where in NWNJ are you located? I'm across the border in NY.

Very nice button...I absolutely love that old, fine detail that the older relics have..ddf

Its a fairly common type of decoration used on a civvy Tombac Button from about 1750-1800.

Cool button, I found one similar, someone thought it was probably early 1800-1850's

Some Museum services think that tombacs finished in 1830, I'm not so sure, but never as late as 1850!

That is a very nice detailed button, congratulations! :occasion14:
