It's a US silver 3 cent piece, also known as a Trime! Congratulations! Those are bucket listers for most people. I think I have found two ever.

Cool. Never knew they made such a thing. Thank you!!

nice finds if you get a Red book for US coins there is a lot in there i didn't know they made

It's a Trime, looks to be in good condition! :occasion14:

great find now go back and find the 3 cent nickel.....:laughing7:

Lucky you! A coin that many of us would love to find! Only struck for 23 years(1851-1873), and the first 3 years they were 75% silver 25% copper then changed to 90% silver. Definitely one of my favorite designs on a US coin.

Nice trime!!! Love that coin [emoji106]🏻

Congrats on your first trime.
Now you need to find the other two oddball coins , the 2 center and the 20 cent piece.

Nice!!!

These coins were minted in part because postage rates changed from 5 cents to 3 cents in 1851.

Awesome find, still looking for my first.

Awesome rare find! I've only found NONE! Lol. Congrats.

Haven’t you heard IT’S TRIME TIME BABY!!!

Congratulations on hitting a special bucket lister that has eluded a lot of us :)

I haven’t been out hunting in a couple months, so finding something cool on my first day back out makes me want to get back out there.

:)
