I have dug a lot of stuff over the years and a thought has always occurred to me...
and I always wondered... like everything in this hobby..
Back 100 - 500 - 1000 -2-3000 years ago... If they had known that there were going to be people with machines out looking for the coins that they lost, would they have done anything different ? Made more coins ? made different designed coins, LOST more coins ?
Knowing that someone with a machine 2-3 thousand years later would be out looking for them ?
I've always wondered this...
Speculation ... Just a thought..

I wonder about this myself and my curiosity got stronger after I discovered this forum. Being a hiker and hunter I’ve always found things in remote places and can’t help but wonder about the person that lost it or last used it. Like the railroad badge I found and posted here, it was a replica, but who in the heck lost it thousands of feet up the side of a mountain? Or was it lost at all? Maybe it was left intentionally to mark a trail back down?

When I saw the honorable mentions posts I thought it was nice how you guys help people. But I also thought about the ones that aren’t found and maybe someone in 100 or a 1000 years might be out hunting and find it, then have the same curiosity that we have today.

To answer your questions, I doubt that long ago anyone would have imagined it, and if they did I think they would have done things the same way. I don’t see them switching things up for hunters in the future. But it is fun to think about even if it’s not coins. How many said to themselves “that arrow is lost forever”?
