I got out this weekend with Tnetters Kurtstuben and Smittyman. The weather was really nice, the BBQ lunch was killer, and it was good to hunt with my buddies.

Here is a pic of Smittyman, fixing to make it happen!

The first place was trashy and gave up very few wheaties, so I was surprised when this 1924 Merc came out of the hole.

Both silvers came from a slope in front of some old housing. The grass (weeds) was too high, and there was a lot of trash, but I was glad that my efforts were rewarded with a second silver coin, a first year Rosie.

Here is a pic of the 126 coins that I dug on Saturday, at a couple of different public spots.

Here is a pic of stuff I didn’t throw out... yet.

If you know what that spout is for, let me know.

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts!

Outstanding Hunt!! Back to killing it again!

I must be a slow digger because I have never recovered anywhere near 100 plus coins in one day! I'm lucky to dig 20-25 maybe the schools and parks are hit harder here not sure?

I'm not sure I could pull that off if I knew where they were. That's impressive! Any Tips?

If your in a large city or even a good sized town hit the neighborhood parks. The parks i am talking about are not on any list of city parks but are instead part of the neighborhood where you will usually find a jungle gym along with a basketball court and some swing sets. The best way to find them is to do a google search of the city you are interested in then select satellite view. zoom in on neighborhoods and look for grassy areas. Zooming in further will give you a street view where you can verify if it is a neighborhood park.

Not bad tom! Good digs with friends, can't ask for much more than that

I bet you guys had a blast just by the amount of targets you Dug. Congrats on those 2 silvers Tom. How'd Kurt and Smitty do?

Hey Loco! No silver for me but I got my first half dollar, a clad 1977 and a total of 39 coins. Can't keep up with CT, he can dig so many holes! As CT said, it was an excellent day of hunting with good friends.

Tom. If you're throwing the silver and wheat away...I'll take 'em!
Good job on the silvers outta public spots. Gettin' harder and harder.
I had a G R E A T weekend.....hit a spot (private property permission) that gave up 21 wheats and NINE silvers (27 SLQ, 4 mercs, 3 rosies and a 43P war nickel)
Puts me at ..... ....... ........ 15 silver coins for the year! I'm ahead of you! (for a week, anyway)
Sounds like you have lots of great plans. GOOD LUCK OUT THAR!

Congrats on your 1st half Kurt. :occasion14: Tom is a digging machine, if he ain't digging, he's talking, guess it was a quiet day. :tongue3:

He's such a blast to hunt with, never a dull moment with him around. :icon_thumleft: Looking forward to hunting with him this month in VA along with Relic nut and Damnails.

Congratulations on your silver finds Tom! :occasion14:

This piece looks interesting... to me, it stands out in your pic like a sore thumb! :laughing7:
