yep, it happens in real life

Actually, I always wore Steel Toed boots when I went detecting, which was after work or on days off. Those toes actually helped in keeping the detector stabilized, resetting after each few swings, and sometimes "just break the loneliness if an absence of signals. It really did help once you get used to it. Of course that was mostly 30 years ago. I still do it.

Sounds about right if you have big feet. :dontknow: - :laughing7:

Same thing when you keep detecting your wedding ring with your pin-pointer.

I have spent my working life working with my hands, and wearing rings was never an option. I valued every one of my fingers, and told my wife that before we got married. Her friends said I wouldn’t wear a ring so I could "wander," to which I said BS. If you don’t like it, don’t marry me...go marry your friends. :laughing7: Once I retired I retired my wrist watch and threw out the steel toe boots.

My life today is nothing but positive signals...no false alarms!:headbang:

BTW, married happily for 46+ years.

JoeVal ... congratulations on the 46+ years of marriage. I'm coming up on 44 and can't imagine life without my wife. Of course, not everything has been sunshine and roses but, at the end of the day, she is still my best friend.

As for a wedding ring, I have worn one for so long that don't feel right without it. Now, about the problem with pinpointing my ring, I have found a solution ... a rubber ring. Many professionals who can't wear a metal ring use them. I wear mine when I am working on things that could cause the loss of a digit; working on anything electrical or doing mechanical repairs, for example.
