JUNK Box What Is It? No.2

What you have is a British Artillery button Piece .....I have seen one piece styles but this one looks to be a two piece Button, There are 3 cannons on the face , just turn the piece clock wise and you can see the detail........Good Luck...... :)

Actually to be more specific,
Those buttons were used by the Canadian militia during the early to mid 1800's as I have found at least 5 different varieties and have had them identified by military experts.
Also, these buttons were used in the early 1870's by the North west mounted police.
Since you are residing in a border state (Michigan) my vote is that your button is Canadian.
To find out more, clean up the back and look for a back mark.

Actually these were dug in the south at skirtmish sites and training camps, etc. These sites produce everything from 18th century half pennies to Memorial cents.
