Close enough to the beach
Detector(s) used
**Tesoro Tiger Shark** Tesoro Silver Umax** Minelab Sov Gt w/WOT coil** Whites 6000Di Pro SL**
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I bought a Tesoro Tiger Shark on Labor Day. I took it out to a local saltwater beach this evening after work. I found a rusty bottle cap at the water line. I worked parallel to the beach in knee-deep water. I dug up some rocks that made my machine respond. I'm guessing these are the "hot rocks" I've heard about. I also dug some other rock-like items that stick to a magnet but were not rusty. Some rocks and some trash, not a great start, but it's a start.

I guess the guys with the Excals had already been there! ;D ;D ;D

You have a good detector there in the Tiger Shark. Don't mess with the sensitivity control inside trying to get more depth out of it, it already gets a lot. The Tiger Shark is the only water detector that I can think of that you can change coils as the rest are hardwired. It also will report on gold chains.

Hot rocks are worse than the pull tabs.

LOL. Probably true.

It's getting to where everytime I'm in the water hunting and another hunter enters the water, he is using an Excal. >:( Maybe I should stop praising Excals, and start pushing PI's, at least then it will slow them down while they are digging 4 foot holes for the bobbypins and tiny pieces of iron.

ha! i did the same this weekend! my tigershark is on the way!

I went in today and watched a guy working an area with a non Excal. He spend about 2 hours doing a small area and finally left. Since the beach has been hammered in the last few days (even the SCUBA guys were there) I hadn't found but some change but decided to go over where he had been working as it was on the way out. Got a nice low tone hit and started digging. I was down a good 20 inches when up comes a 14K gold and sapphire ring. It was a very clear signal even at that depth. I do love my Excals :) :) :)
