Hi again,

Since I didn't have the chance to post this find on Treasurenet I will do it right now. Some members from the CMD forum will recognize it as I have found it a few weeks ago in Quebec,Canada. Just wanted to share it with you as it was my best find to date before the French coin spill.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and the comments. And thanks to members who invited me here especially Iron Patch.

Strange that you started replying today to comments people made a year ago......

It's my mistake. I was surprised to notice that I didn't reply to them. I have just opened my profile back than and didn't know the site well enough and had no idea people left those comments. Wasn't sure if I should answer them now, thought it might be rude as some said some very nice things. I think I'll just put ''Like'' so not to get on peoples nerves.

Great finds my friend. Can you tell me what you used to restore that buckle it looks great.

Thank you. The buckle didn't need much restoration. I just washed it and picked some bits with the toothpick. The soil is extremely good on the coppers at that spot.

I talked to the dude who wrote the book about the artifacts at Fort Michilimackinac, Mackinaw City...he literally wrote the book on Jesuit Rings. He told me the rings are supposed to be worn like this......

Thank you. A beautiful ring you got there. I had no idea about how it was worn. Thanks for the info! What's the name of the book you're referring to?

I would love to find some of the artifacts on the cover of the book.

Jesuit rings are on my bucket list for sure! Although finding one it that condition I probably would have just tossed it back... J/k awesome ring in awesome condition!

Lol. Same here, I realized a few months back that Trade items are my favorite type of finds. There's something about them that excites me more than any Rev War button. I did find the same type of cross as on the cover I believe. My only Trade silver so far.

Just one would put me on cloud nine for life, but a native silver gorget would be my dream find. By the way, found a historical thesis from Laval University on trade rings. Can send you the pdf file (it's in french) or the link if I can find it again. Good luck in your next hunt guys.

Same here. I can't imagine how I would feel finding one. I believe I saw the thesis you're referring to '' BIJOUX DE PACOTILLE OU OBJETS DE PIETE? ''. It's really interesting indeed.

Exactly this one, I have to finish reading it. I mostly read on the Abenakis this year, as I we had some land along the St-françois river (recently sold).
