Great $25 Loomis cent box. Sweet-talked a teller and manager at a bank that I don't usually get boxes from because they usually want to charge a fee.

13 wheats, including
-1916-S (!) 22.5M mintage - narrowly surpasses the 1925-D as the rarest wheat cent I've found in rolls.
-1919
-1954-D red EF+ (Actually I got this in change at Walgreens while running an errand during opening the box - so I say it counts!)

9 Canadian, including a 1947.

Another $25 cent box; this one was lousy. About 85-90% 2013. Got 1 1957-D and one Canadian. A few 2009s.

Hope the next one is better.

My best dime box ever:

-1964
-1962-D
-1960-D
-1957
-1951-S (!!)

Also
2 Canadian
2 2009-D
1 2009-P

This box really helps bring my averages back up.

New dime totals: $2240 searched, 13 Roosies, 1 Barber.

Another $25 cent box; this one started out looking really promising but fell kind of flat.

7 wheats; oldest was a 1919-S
10 Canadian, nothing very old.

2 Loomis nickel boxes:

Box #1:
1943-P
8 1940s
15 1950s
23 1960-63 (I've started saving these as well. I figure when I eventually sell off some pre-59's, I'll pad the lots with some of these and market them as all being over 50 years old)
2 Canadian
1 Mexican $1 Peso (2007)

Box #2
1943-P
1938 (my first one)
14 1940s
10 1950s (including a slightly rare 53-S)
18 1960-63

As long as I get one war nickel in a box, and a decent handful of pre-60s, I'm happy with that. These were decent boxes. Fun to find a peso!

Dime box #10

Skunk.
3 2009-Ds. Still have a about 1/3 of the box left to face-check.

No - wait - what's that on the floor?

It's a pile of dimes I forgot about, from when my kid opened a roll last night and it exploded onto the floor. He must've picked up a handful of them and left the rest.

What's this?

Why, it's a 1957-D!

Not a skunk after all.

:hello2:

New dime totals: $2490 searched; 14 Roosies, 1 Barber. One silver every $166.00

Nickel box:

13 1940s
17 1950s
1944-P war nickel
Dateless Buffalo
2003-S Proof(!!) - My first proof, at least that I've recognized and kept. Pretty excited about this! I was wondering if I'd be able to spot one, and I basically saw my reflection on it.
2 Canadian - 1968, 1987

$150 in dimes over the last 3 weeks (it's all a blur to me), and got 2 Roosies.

Last night / this morning: $250 dime box:
-1948-D (my oldest Roosie find)
-1952-D
-1944-S (MY FIRST MERC!!!)

New dime totals: $2890 searched; 18 Roosies, 1 Merc, 1 Barber. One silver every $144.50 searched.

So excited about the merc I forgot the other remarkable statistic about this box: SEVEN 2009s. Six D's and a P.

I seem to regularly get about 3x as many 2009D as 2009P. Weird, considering about half as many D's exist as P's. Must just be my region I guess.

I just counted up all my 2009s, and this puts me at 52 - more than a full roll. I have 42 D's and only 10 P's. One 2009 dime for every $55.60 searched.

Just found 3 more Roosies in a pile of unsorted-but-keeper sh- stuff on top of my coin organizer. That puts me at 23 silver out of $2890 searched, or one every $125.65 - 1.99 per box! My average is looking much better than I thought it was!

Opened $10 in stray bank-wrapped cent rolls I had in a box under my dresser. Got 4 wheats, including 2 in one roll - and needed both of them for my son's album! 1929-D and 1939.

Also did a full copper inventory today and I have about $98 face value worth. I'm going to try my hand at selling some soon. We'll see how that goes.

$200 in Loomis dimes - skunk (2013s)
$100 in bank-wrapped dimes - skunk
$100 in Loomis-wrapped dimes - 3 Roosies
-1947-D
-1957
-1964

New dime totals: $3290 searched; 21 Roosies, 1 Merc, 1 Barber. One silver every $143 searched.

Got my 1st 2 boxes of halves!

Box one: 1966, 1973-S Proof.
Box two: skunk.

$250 dime rolls - 1 Roosie (57? Forgot already).

New dime totals: $3540 searched; 22 Roosies, 1 Merc, 1 Barber.

Nickel box #9
02 -1939
11 -1940s
21 -1950s (including a 1951-S)
02 -2009-D

Loomis half boxes #3 and #4
1 40% (1969)
2005-D
2009-D
1983 with a 1/8" hole straight through it.

Halves totals: $2000 searched, 2 40%, 0 90%

Nickel box #10 - best in a while
25 1950's
15 pre-1950 non-war
1942-P
1945-P
1945-D

2009-D
2 Canadian

First time I've had 3 war nickels in a single box. Although one of my early boxes had 2 plus a clean 1937 Buffalo, so I guess that's better.

Nickel box #11
12 1950's
11 pre-1950 non-war
1943-P
1943-S
1944-D

2009-P

2011 Chinese 5 Wu Jiao(!)
