I've got a river spot. What detector would you recomend?
My friend and I found 3.3 grams of nuggets in a river close to Los Angeles after a full day of panning in a black sands area. The biggest one is about 1.65 grams, there are 2 smaller ones and rest is like dust. we spent a full day, and even though the experience was rewardable, we've kept on wondering ourselves if a gold detector may be a better option.
Is there a not expensive detector special for small rivers? Do they work better than panning and hurt our backs joints?
We are willing to come back to that place before they close the area, a mining company started to built something no too far away of that spot. Coincidence? i don't know , but I hate those with their big money that always come after one found something worthy.
Sincerely,
