I've detected and dug a target that turns out to be a 7ft cannon!!
It's on land and has never been in the ocean but close to it.

It's very rusty and while I've cleaned many items with electrolysis before. I've never done this big!!

Any tips on what size set up to use - power / amps / cable size / power supply etc?
What could I use as a container??

Pics to follow!!!

oh my, i cannot wait to see this! A cannon would be really cool to dig up!!

Awesome. Not sure about electrolysis that big, gonna require some decent power. Maybe you can take it somewhere that does large scale stuff?

Hey BVI, it's good to see a post from you. At least you're not completely invisible anymore :)

Stay safe! You'd need a swimming pool to do electrolysis on that thing. And of course it must weigh half a ton or more.

Maybe sending a email to Mel Fishers crew will help.:)

A makeshift frame lined with plastic sheeting will make a tank. I don't have a clue about the current needs for something that large. Great find!

In for pics :notworthy:

Thanks!!!

I'd love to weigh it for sure - once I get it out of the ground!!!

Good Luck on the recovery and restoration! :occasion14:

I agree with phishfarmer, I was thinking build a wood box and line it with the black plastic used for lining ponds\ fountain, but the canon can not lay directly on top of it because will perforate the plastic by its shear weight.
