Its old its silver it's a coin but what is it

Found this coin today & I could tell it was old & silver but I have no idea what it is or how old it is. The obverse has a lady under her neck all I can see is ADA above her are the letters oria?dfi gratia regina.
on the back all I can see is a wreath looking thing with a H under it. The drawing is the best I can do. Can anyone tell me about her?.

Looks like... Canadian Victoria quarter, or British Shilling. Show us the other side.

Seeing your picture with the "H" probably says Canadian quarter.

I'm pretty sure you've got a Canadian silver quarter from 1860 -1880 period - Argentium.

Seeing your picture with the "H" probably says Canadian quarter.

The other side is hard to see in a pic & all that you can see is the vine/wreath looking thing. I have it soaking right now & if it cleans up any better I will post some more pics.

Iron Patch, that looks a lot like it the only thing I can see that might be different is the cluster on the bottom of the back where the ribbon is. yours is rectangle & the one on mine looks round. Just took a better look at it & it is a rectangle.

Tried something new for me on this coin, I took a soft lead pencil & gently rubbed it on the coin. All of the black corrosion disappeared and the lettering came out. The coin is a 1881 Canadian quarter. I have always wondered how to get rid of the black stains on silver & this I don't know if it took it away but you can definitely see the markings better.

I would not have done this except I thought without much detail the coin was not worth much so why not take a shot at it. I will let it set over night and if I can I'll post some pics tomorrow

You could not even see tha back before, at least you can read the date & see some of the detail now.

Not that the coin has value but you'd be very surprised how seldom these turn up... and I'm talking in Canada!

Thanks for the notes, I went back again today & came home with a 1950 Dime, a 1958d penny a 1936 Utah tax token and a military button.

That is like finding a eairly barber or seated dime but Canadian.
