Y’all might see me here quite often. My OCD goes haywire when I can’t ID something and my imagination likes to take charge on stuff we find! So to all the pros, any ideas? Hunting Civil War and plantation areas. Imagination says something used to mold bullets (thanks to the movie The Patriot lol). Truth of the item?

Thanks for all the info! Yea my poor hands are rough from the rust and vinegar for sure. I think we do have an old rebar hanging around somewhere that we can cut into smaller pieces. Nothing we've found is super huge, except a plow. So a small bucket will probably work as a tank. I currently use a small mop bucket as my soap and water tank for cleaning stuff right when we get home, just to try to knock a lot of dirt off the iron stuff. Hopefully the e-tank will make our lives simpler!

My first thought was it looks like a small tie-rod (missing the ball and stud) that was used on lawn tractors other equipment That had steering... Just a guess...

I know it’s a lot to ask, but can you measure both pieces? Side to side, and length wise? I really want a more accurate depiction of this thing.

I feel like I had my ass kicked

Ditto! We’ve been hunting mostly plowed fields but this new area is wooded and full of hills and creeks. So of course I’m off running around exploring, going up and down into the creeks. I almost talked myself out of going today and convinced myself I need to do laundry and work....coffee has kicked in now. Hubby isn’t leaving without me! I’m goin dig! lol
