It's Getting Crowded in Here !

Have you noticed how many new names we have on the forum in just the last couple of weeks?

Remember that I have only been on here since May.

I think that it's safe to say that for every new CRH'er on this forum there are at least 10 more out there that don't don't post.

It won't be long before a lot of new faces start moving into YOUR home territory.

And, BTW, not every one of these newbies are going to even CONSIDER working in unison with you. This is kind of a loner's sport.

I will give you my un-asked-for opinion. I think that we need to accept these new guys and gals with grace and resign ourselves to sharing the loot with more and more people until it is gone.

I know that some say that the silver will always be there, and maybe it will be.
But would it make any difference to you if 25 new CRH'ers started up in your area started visiting your banks?

And what would the banks do? They will respond with NO's and with elevated fees for all their services, pricing us completely out of this business.

Ironically, CRH'ing can only remain successful as long as the price of silver stays LOW.
And that just ain't gonna happen, folks.

Want to hear something even more ironic? No? I'll tell you anyway.
Forum's like this one hasten the demise of our pursuit, even while giving us knowledge to better perform.

Lol, I like your sense of humor.

Serious though. I don't think anybody has ever "not welcomed" any newbies. When newbies post asking the same questions over and over I often reply the best single piece of advise anybody new can be told and execute is to R..E..A..D. Why I say that is is because that is what I did instead of asking stupid questions that get asked, and answered over and over. Instead I read, and by reading I gained knowledge, that shortened my learning curve, and helped me beat a lot of people to the punch on their own silver in their backyard.

See really the way I see it, I have actually helped newbies by calling these questions stupid. 1. So hopefully they will quit clogging the forum with them...lol (sorry couldn't resist but true) 2. It will spur them on to "educate" themselves by reading. And that in of itself will answer ever question they could have. It's all on here and been asked before. Nothings new. The rest of who is your area and what banks sell and yada yada and so on and so forther....pick up the phone and call. That's how you find out is u call.

The best way to combat it is by switching tellers over to your side so they call you when a roll of decent coin comes in.

Silver will never "dry up" even if the price of silver increases a lot. After all, if you are going to turn in a $3 dime for face value, you are going to do the same thing if the price of silver means you turn in a $5 dime.

Everyone treats this as a competition rather than as a friendly sport and I really don't understand it. After all, people join metal detecting clubs all the time and there are a -lot- less good MDing finds than CRHing finds and most MDing finds aren't replenishable like CRHing is. After all, if you head to an old homestead and dig up all the silver spoons that are in the ground there and you come back a week later, you aren't going to find any. On the other hand, a bank that has all skunks one week might give you a solid roll the next week.

I am a new guy on here, and you are right, I will be pulling lots of silver out of circulation, I can promise you that. I've had a big score that showed me it's still out there, and i'll be looking for it.

HOWEVER

I don't talk about coin roll hunting, I don't spread the word. I know the total mintage numbers of silver coins, and there is PLENTY TO GO AROUND. If every single american started to CRH, every single american would be able to find some silver, and there is no way that many people will ever take up this hobby. Even cherry picking tellers don't bring whole boxes home to search through. Not to mention all the ignorant kids, that cash in grandpas silver collection for face value, or the stupid kid that gets into dads closet and uses a $5 roll of silver dimes to buy some candy.

The silver may dry up, but by then, we'll be minting new silver coins again to prevent future inflation. (Hopefully).
