its copper but is it a nugget or something more?

I was out swinging the detector on what used to be an Indian reservation when I dug up this chunk it seems to be solid copper and I know they have found copper artifacts out there before. The land is all woods now and no one has settled there since the 1800's. I think its cool either way the thing is heavy as heck and definitely solid copper just wondering if its natural or been melted into this shape.

interesting ,,,,, I have read before of copper spearheads and other tools used by American Indians , but that looks like ore , or maybe slag to me , but I am no expert .
