It's always the...

... small average looking old houses that put out the coins. :D This house I detected today is for sale, so every time people stopped to look at it I would give them a tour of the property. Not only did they get a tour, but they also got some history of our town thrown in.

Perfect day to detect. Cool, nice soft sandy soil and friendly strangers who were interested in real estate.

Cheers!

Man what a great haul. I think standers are my favorite coin. I just love seeing those spread wings when you first pull it from the hole. I only have three so far.

Congrats, my friend.

Great job, dude!!! How did you manage to get to search the house?

My friend talked with his mother about what I do. She gave me permission to search the place, so after work the other morning I hit the front yard before going home. Nothing but some clad and some keys. Her house was built in the fifties, and I still have the side and backyard to go! So, maybe I'll get lucky. ;) Ciao!

And how did I miss this post? What a day, and strategy! You're right about those ordinary looking places...like my in-laws. They live in an old simple bungalow and the yard was loaded, including a large cent, lots of Indians and Mercs, wheats, a Barber dime, etc. Way to go!

Re: It's always the...

Very nice. That clock key is pretty cool.

Re: It's always the...

Yes! I dug all the stuff you see in about 4 hours.

Doug and I received permission to do three houses at once from a real estate broker. Including the brokers house. I also got permission to do the house next to his (that's where the large cent came from).

We also have permission to do two other properties in the same area any time we want.

Doug and I have agreed that he gets to do the next house like this one by himself, since he wasn't there for this house. Two houses on that block have already been torn down and all the top soil taken away.

When you find a spot like this one the silver coins just pop out like clad.

Cheers!

I can hardly wait. I'd be happy joining the Barber Club soon. ;D
A hot day on tap tomorrow, but the ground should be moist at least.
