It's all new to me

Ask your neighbors if you can start there.
Go to the Barber shop and ask the older guys where they played baseball when they were young...local swimming holes ,public parks, schoolyards.
Look at old maps, ask the local farmers if you can hunt fields.

How about the fair grounds or around the rodeo arena? Maybe some gold nuggets in the bedrock by the creek?
This site will help you and me figure it out. Please post your finds no matter please.

Welcome from San Jose, CA! Check on-line to see what your county has to say about metal detectors. Check state laws to find out about state parks. Good luck and happy hunting!

Welcome Aboard Andnels! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...
