This artifact season is about over.I am hitting a few places on Sebasticook lake.One is within sight of the sebasticook fish weir.This weir pre-dates the pyramids and is the oldest in north america...Here's a little mix.There's an adze-like wood working tool.It is built heavier than most adzes.The piece next to it I'm unsure of.The next piece is a knife.I thought it to be a preform.But there is quite alot of pressure flaking on it.There's a quartz hammer stone.A nice uni face scraper and a few brokes one being quartz and my first quartz point....I'm not done yet but it ain't quite as fun when its in the twenties on a lake shore....mjm

Thanks viking.One of my spots is right in town but at the others I'm in orange for sure.There calling for twenties for the next couple days.Then a warmup in the fifties.I feel fortunate to find open ground at all seeing we already had near a foot of snow...mjm

Sorry to hear of your season coming to a end. Mine never ends but this year is different seeing the weeds are already in the fields. So my season looks to be short due to it. Nobody is turning dirt rite now and the ones that did planted cover crops. Going to be a tough year.

I still have a few fields to hunt, and depending on my hunters maybe a creek. I made it through one war and I would hate to know I took a bullet in my own back yard from some weekend hunter. Even when I do hunt this time of year, I wear bright colors, so not to look like a deer, white ,grey and brown are out. Everyone just be careful out there

I hear ya monster rack..I was accidentally shot as a kid.It was a ricochet and the wrong squirrel got shot.Don't ever underestimate the power of a .22......Here in Maine hunting is not allowed on Sundays.Now as a hunter that would chap my......but as a finder of really cool rocks I sure enjoy knowing my shiney posterior isn't going to be the participant of a lead infusion...mjm
