It's a small world after all...........

Pictured below, are the front and backs of foreign coins that I have found in parks here in Nebraska over the last year and a half. It just amazes me that some of these pieces found their way all the way to the interior of this great country. They are described as follows:

4 Canadian pennys - 1972, 1974, 1984, and 1989
1 Cuban 5 Centavos - 1946
1 English 10 Pence - 1992
1 Mexico 20 Centavos - 1954
1 Philippine 5 Centavos - 1966
1 Spain 20 cent Euro - 1999
1 Switzerland 5 Rappan - 1981

The Canadian and Mexico pieces didn't really surprise me all that much, but the Switzerland piece really surprised me.

The world is definately getting smaller! :)

I was at the coin & hobby shop the other day. They had a box of world coins for 50 cents. I buy them for my grandson and he looses them. Bet that's where your is coming from.

With the exception of the gold Euro pin, the others were found at depths of 2 to 3 inches. Unfortunately, the gold in the color of the coin. Not what it's made of.
