I went hunting at the Tot Lot! Found 3 pennies and 2 bullet casings, that makes me mad. The pennies are cool but spent bullets!!? :'(? ?>:( .

I found this Italian silver bracelet downtown on a trash can rim and a PT next to it on the ground. It says .925 on one side and Italy BD or 88 or something on the other side. The loop for the clip is broken so I think they tossed it. I just bent it back into place.? ;D :D

You never know where you will find something!

Keep @ it and HH!!? ::)

I once asked a jewelry guy if he could size up my mom's silver ring for me. He said sterling cant be sized up because once you heat it ....God I dont know it was years ago...something about the other metals mixed in would seperate out and basically make a mess. So I am guessing you need some real special equipt to make the sterling. I am guessing homemade bars would be out...but again, I really have no idea LOL ??? ??? ;D ;D ::)

Hey Mud,

Precious metal smelting is not a do-it-yourself project. You need a smelter or a way to produce high heat. You also need an amalgam (typically mercury-not good to play with) that seperates the impurities, and then it is poured into ingots of specific purity. I suggest you just keep it or sell it. In some areas of the old mining sites out west nothing grows yet from the mercury contamination from 150 years ago.

I know someone who has a little jewelers smelter, I don't know if he has used it. I do know if you get the right stuff you can smelt your own stuff. I am going to try it at least once we will see what happens, I bet it will work out. I will learn how, get the gear and well... Just do it!

Thanks all,

I think and hope someone did drop them and not shoot them. A friend says that playground was there since the 50's but newly conditioned. I thought it was new. The thing is its right downtown so anyone shooting would be arrested right away.

Keep @ it and HH!!
