It was a Tiffany & Co. kinda day!!!

Hello Everyone, :hello:

Got out for three hours today to a ballfield / tot lot in the City of Pickering, Ontario this afternoon. The first hour started out slow as I was only digging pennies from the trees in the park area. I then headed to the Tot Lot and found nothing or interest there either, except for the race car! :D

Decided it was time to swing my way over to the ballfield and then POW! I got this great signal about 4" down, of course all I could think was . . . yeah right another beercap! Once I flipped over the plug I saw this silver chain hanging down in the hole. The first thing I thought was, wow a medic alert bracelet . . . looks like it might be silver too! :o So I took a pic of it and cafefully pulled it out. Man was I ever wrong! I've seen these types of Tiffany bracelets found by others here on Tnet, I certainly never thought that I'd find one!

After hunting the ball field and finding more coins, I noticed an old stone house dating from about 1850 on the other side of field behind the park fence. I decided to head over and check out the grass strip of hill along the fence adjacent to the house. This is where I found the old bell at about 6" down. I decided it was time to swing my way back to my truck across the ballfield, this is where I found the religious silver ring, about 2" down! ;D

Sorry to be so long winded about my finds today, I guess I'm still pretty hyped about the Tiffany bracelet! :laughing7:

Best of luck to everyone,
Dave

WTG! A Tiffany & Co. bracelet plus the chain! WHO-HOO!

I like the bell too.

I'm thinking that wedge-shaped piece with the lines on it and a hole at the top may be an earring. Check it for hallmark/numbers too.

I think you're going to have a very enjoyable few days cleaning the rest of that site out.

Thanks for posting Tuberale and I'm glad you noticed the hair barrette, because I think it's really interesting. I figure it probably dates to the 1950's or 60's because of it's size, it's about 4" long. I've aded a couple of closeup pics for you here and in the last photo it says, 'Made in W. Germany'!

I'll head back there on Monday or Tuesday to finish it. I was there for 3hrs and only covered about half the baseball fields, as there are two.
HH, Dave

Re: It was a Tiffany & Co. kinda day!!!

Tiffany co i think was established in 1837, and the tag says return to the NY because correct me if i'm wrong but that is what the Tiffany Co used to do for there costumers put there names on it or establish the tag with a # so when they lost it, the finder would send it to the Company and the company would send it to the customer with the corresponding # or the tag just had the return address on it or something like that :dontknow: , but the one you have just says it for kicks and hase no ID#. i know this because my sister likes the Tiffany Co jewelry . Also Pickering was my first home town until i was 5 then moved away.

I don't know whether you'd remember the TeePee Drive in at Liverpoole Road & Highway #2. I used to go there as a kid and I remember my Dad taking us there in 1973 to see The Sting with Robert Redford & Paul Newman! :laughing7:

Silver is always cool.

I don't mind digging aluminum either Brad, as it looks exactly like silver for a second coming out of the hole! :laughing7:
