The shorelines are all that is open for detecting here, as theres still a foot of snow in the woods. Luckily, the shorelines often have some nice old finds. Got the usual musketballs, relics, toasted copper coins and a few modern silver. Had a solid low-mid tone and thought I was digging a button, when to my surprise, a little silver coin popped out. I could see right away that it was broken. The details are crisp and I was so happy to see a little silver trime! (1851-1853) The broken edge initially looked like an old break, but after I got home and ran it under water, I could tell that it was new. I can't believe I did that!!!!! The tide came up and covered the area a few times since then, so the chances of finding the missing piece is slim. I'm going to give it a shot though! It will be a week before I can go back there. Wish me luck!

It took me 6 years to find my first Trime 2 weeks ago. Sucks about the break but a Trime is a Trime!!! Congratulations and allow me to be the first to welcome you to the Trime Club!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure it was whole when I beeped it lol. It took me 6 years to find it, and it will take me even longer to find the piece I broke off with my shovel :)

Thanks alot folks. I'm really happy to have it!

Congrats on the nice finds! :occasion14:

Don't beat yourself up too much, its happened to almost everyone who digs a lot of targets!

Congrats on digging that trime. :occasion14: Sad to say my coil has yet to beep on one of those.

Bah! That’s just a teenie “nick” [emoji6]

I’ve been seeing a lot of Canadian coins pop out of the ground for our friends to the South. Good to see one of their’s pop up here for a visit. [emoji1303]

Good luck finding the missing piece. Hope the detector gods lend a hand...

I know isn’t that strange? This is like the 3rd or 4th one I’ve seen in the last 2 weeks and I just realized RM is in Canada and I thought I was lucky to find one down South. Canada THAT IS AMAZING!!!!

I find alot of US coins here. Being fairly close to the border helps lol. Maine is about 30 minutes away. It's more common to find colonial era US coins mixed in with British, Scottish and Irish because of the influx of Loyalists and Quakers to the area in the 1780s.
