Stopped at 3 banks on my way to work in Vassar, MI. I picked up $350 in customer rolled halves They held 11 40% halves on one Proof Ben Franklin. We will take it.
After Vassar, we headed to Northern Michigan to spend Christmas at our cabin. We were able to stop that the "Happy" Bank and purchase $500 in Bank rolled Halves they produced. 1 40%. It was a good Christmas week hunt.
The "Happy" bank is where Tanner and I had one of our best scores ever. ( I think it was 67 40% and 1 standing liberty) It is small local bank system that still rolls there own coin. We know of only two banks systems that still roll there own. One is stingy and only wants to give out halves to customers, the other is the "Happy" bank. When banks roll their own they go right from the counting machine bag into the rolling machine. They do not send them out. Kind of like getting them from the bag but they have been rolled.
