It finally happened! I'm so happy

Spanish silver!!! its 1718-1726 minted in cuenca spain based on the assayer jj. Found a 1899 Indian penny and 6 flat buttons and 8 lead bag seals today also. I know it's not anything too special but it's my first Spanish silver and I am happy as can be

its from a 2 real, i think, and based on the jj mark it was made in cuenca spain, from 1717-1718 and 1726-1727, if im wrong someone please correct me

it's a pretty special find from here! old spanish silver that was cut to make change? doesn't get much cooler than that. congratulations!

Congrats on some sweet Spanish silver!

Very cool piece, great shape too. Congratulations!

Steve

Congrats on the cut silver. :occasion14: That one is still on my list along with Spanish the silver.

thats real treasure there! cool find

what really made it so great was i was at a hunted out clay hill in a field, i have never found anything on this hill but there was a early 1700s plantation here. it was the end of the day and i went to the clay hill to look for clay pipe pieces after the heavy rain and i decided to swing the etrac while i looked and of course nothing as usual and as im walking to the car to go home i get a 12-37 on the etrac which is usually a zinc penny, im about 15 feet from the car and i almost didnt dig it, but about 6 inched down i threw out the dirt and see the shape and knew what it had to be. my hunting partner has found 5 pieces on this farm in the past and he had said earlier that day if i found spanish silver today he would buy me steak, sooooooo getting some steak for lunch next time we go

Congratulations! :occasion14:

Congrats on your first, good shape to boot.
Would like to see the seals as well, some of those can be very interesting, 8 in one hunt seems like a lot of those, don't think I ever got that many in a year.
OK I got to go dig a few holes myself, but will check back for those seal pics.

Good luck out there.

Sweet Spanish silver!! Still looking for my first cut silver.
Congrats!!
