I actually found this, yesterday, and have been 24 hours figuring out how to post, from an android.
A lot of dirt work is being done, to make ready for a highway expansion through town. A lot of trenching for new phone lines, and underground utilities. When the trenches are filled back, I hunt the loose dirt. In the past 6 months, I've found several seated dimes, two Walkers, a handful of What's, and Indian Heads, along with some nice artifacts from the territorial days. Yesterday, after having been out of town, for two weeks, I noticed they'd filled a trench next to a territorial prison. I beat it home, picked up the AT&T Pro, and headed back. I hadn't gone 6 feet, from my starting point, when I got a 42 reading, at 2 inches. I figured it to be trash, but wanted to get it out of the way for future hunts. One scoop of the tool, and this popped out of the ground. When I saw FIVE DOLLARS, I thought I'd found some history. Then I turned it over to see 1996. My first gold coin! The detail is actually better than my phone camera allows.
