Im just saying, the women trys to hide my detector in the basement cuz I talk about going out and hunting or I have it in the trunk all the time just incase I drive by a nice looking field or grassy area. like the strip of grass between the road and sidewalk..lol oh yeah I got it bad!!! she wants to have a movie nite and im watching the movie saying look at that old house and big yard I bet theres goodies there! am I alone in this is it just me..i don't shower with my detector anymore..jk..I rinse it off in the shower tho and she hates it!!lol

If a man is having any real fun without the woman there...then sure, you WILL catch hell. Innocent or not. When someone can fully explain that to me, I would appreciate it. I just think it is the way it is, which is wrong.

I thing Peggy Bundy said it best in one episode when talking to Marcy Darcy next door when she said, "Al is having w-a-y-y-y too much fun without us Marcy, and we just can't have that."

If you are neglecting to see or spend time with your GF and instead detect all of the time then she has the right to be mad.

I once dated a girl who started out hating my friends, then she started hating my hobbies. It turned out that she had no friends, no hobbies, and was very possessive of me and didn't want me to have those things either. I was ordered to sit in the house all day and stare at her while she sat on her ever-growing ass while she watched TV. That's why she is an "Ex" now!

Take your GF with you. Mine wants to go with me this spring :icon_thumright:
 

You should try and get her hooked too... Would be the perfect activity to do together.

Heres what youre doing buddy.If youre spending more time hunting,which would include some of the time you use to spend with her.You know she's jealous,and if she knows you know that she's jealous,basically what youre doing on movie night is grabbing here by the hair and rubbing her face in it.If she's a woman with any kind of pride youre going to be getting the crap end of the stick very shortly.

mines thinks its boring and stupid..she says im just wondering around in a field and digging holes in the dirt, kinda what dogs do. so now I hump her leg!

No but sometimes there is conflict when I want to go digging and she wants me to escort her to Hobby Lobby.:BangHead: But I think on your same wave link though. I like the spaces between the sidewalk and road as well. In my state we probably have as many places like that left as anyone. Good luck.

This being my first full year of detecting, not yet. But when spring rolls around she will be.

On the flipside here. Hubby can't see the point of me detecting. And he has zero interest as he "has done enough digging holes in his lifetime" ho hum. I try and get him with me as a few places I don't care to be alone at but then he is just bored to tears. Try to get him to use the detector and I dig but nope. Of course then there has been a few times I pull up a coin and he goes ooh and takes it from me and starts trying to rub it clean AHHHHHHHHH But ya zip zero nada interest from him =(
 

I tell my wife I have a girlfriend and her name is Minelab and we are real tight. Actually she now keeps an eye out for the type of places I like to hunt. She knows I love this hobby and I am happy when I get to dig. She loves seeing the different finds I bring home. BUT I do make sure my normal husbandry duties are taken care of and that keeps my MD'ing in her good graces. It's a fine line....
