I know this is the wrong part of the forum but I consider this a "find". Plus I wanted your opinions. I found this on craigslist, it was only a couple miles away. Paid 40 bucks. It looks like it has never been outside. The woman said her husband bought it, used it maybe 5 times and put it away. He died recently and she didn't want it. Felt kinda bad but she just wanted to get rid of it. It is one of the newer "Classics" It even has toggle pinpointing. It had fresh batteries in it so I fired it up when I got home. I think it works better than my DFX, I'm not kidding!! I don't know whether to sell it on eBay so I can buy a nice stainless water scoop or keep it as a back up. Does anyone know what it is worth? Here is a couple pics. Rich.

LOL Worth every penny you paid for it and more....Good find....

I'm predicting that you made a really good buy! I'd hang onto in for a back up and just because you bought it for a steal!

Great buy! I paid $150 for a classic III, which is not much different than the II. I don't know how it will work at Hammonasset by the water, but should get you some coinage in the sand.

Can you say, "trophy find?"

Yep great deal you got congrats, for the price you payed I would keep it as a back up since you payed next to nothing for it. I just bought a classic ID used like new but I payed 250 for mine came with the box and everything though, but somebody used it like a couple of times and put it in the closet.

I'd say definitely worth it! I bought a barely used classic III for my first detector two years ago from a pawn shop. 40 bucks also :icon_thumright: A whites dealer offered me a bill for it...I said no and bought another machine for my bros. I love the classic III and I don't think there is much difference from the Classic II. You will probably make profit if/when you sell it, but I would keep it.
Sorry for the Lady, but you prob did her a favor from buying it, and you got a great deal/find! :headbang:

Would have been a very good buy at twice that. I used to have a Classic II. Very good, light machine. If I had a couple of hours to spare for a quick park hunt I would always grab the Classic II and leave my MXT at home.

oh yeah, definitely a great deal!!...would love to be able to get a deal like that myself...and I would keep it for a back up
