My neighbor's daughter found this on the beach at Laguna Niguel, CA back around 1965. It appears to be made of brass, about 1 mm thick. the bowl is about 5mm deep and, as you can see is badly 'torn'. it is 3" long and the bowl is about 1 1/4" in diameter. on the back of the 'handle' is an inscription of some kind but is too badly worn to make out. I took shots with the inscription reading from the handle down and then from the opposite direction in case anyone can make it out. To me it looks as though the printing reads with the larger crack on the left (the top of the handle).
