mill stones were cut here and this was an 1830's quarry, between 4-5 feet around...Thanks

It kind of looks like a tire spoon.
The rock looks like a glacial scald.

Thanks Charlie P.(NY), This could change things? I should of put it in my description, local information states that all the mill stone work was all done by hand and hauled out by oxen in 1836...hmm,interesting
Icewing, yes it is a conglomerate / pudding stone / white quartz

The other item is called feather and wedges for splitting stone.

The first pic may just be half of a drill hole after blasting.

Yes, the spoon was found with the feathers at the bottom of a cut stone!

No doubt. But I am sure things happened there after 1836 - as they did all over the US. ;-)
