Found this on my out of the woods today. I think its a Morgan but am unsure. How would you go about cleaning it?

Admittedly, I don't know coins very well. I don't have a caliper or a scale but here it is next to a Seated Half if that helps.

From the size difference of the half dollar and what we details we can see on the coin I'm guessing it's a Braided Hair half cent circa 1840 to 1857.

Looks like it's a Large Cent.

@C3plants if you can get a quick measurement of the coin with a ruler we should be able to tell if it's a half-cent or a large cent.

If it's just under 1" it's most likely a half-cent, if just over 1" it's most likely a large cent.
 

Go to YouTube and look up coin cleaning. There are some guys doing amazing recoveries on crusty Roman coins. There could be a nice coin under the crust.
 

Take a couple more pictures of it with different coins next to it
 

It's a large cent. Either a Matron Head or a Braided Hair variety.
