Is this a military pin?

Found this dirt fishing in my backyard with my dual field on my third day ever. It measures 1 inch tall by 1 and 1 sixteenth of an inch wide. On the backside, the left wing has an HH inside a star and the right wing says sterling. The closest thing I found on Google is a navy officers pin but mine does not have the gold anchors. Additionally, the makers marks reside where the pin would be attached. Question is, could this be an older version? I've included a pic of the Navy Officers pin I found that so far is the closest match I could find so far. With this being my first silver find it would be great to be able to identify what it is!

I believe I have one just like it. I removed mine from a Navy officers hat. (the back was different) WWII I think.

Sitting here looking at one just like it. You just have the eagle part. And it is silver.. Nice find.
