No-one's going to be able to say that's a meteorite (or not) based on those pictures plus a statement that it's magnetic. Closer and better pictures might help, but it's the interior that's going to provide the real information. Some context for the find would also be helpful in terms of the geology of the surrounding area and the degree to which there are any signs of industry.

All that can really be said at the moment is that it has the superficial external appearance of some meteorites... along with thousands of other much more likely possibilities, including both natural terrestrial rocks and man-made industrial products.

Didn’t quite know how to load the pictures and resized them so I think the blurred them. I will try again. Would really like to know what type of rock this is.

So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

Your best bet is hand it to an expert. Maybe at a local college or university. I hope it's a meteorite, it's a classy looking rock. Gary

Thank you for all of the advice. I think I will try and find someone at the university who might be able to identify.
