I've never found a fired bullet before so I'm not sure. It has one ring around it and it looks like it hit a solid target....you tell me?

Yes, it looks like a fired bullet that made a direct impact onto something hard. You can see the impressions from the barrel rifling lands on the back half.

I appreciate it. What a great day I've find a fired bullet have a direct impact and I found a 1876 Russian 1 Kopek in New Orleans of all places.

Yeah which is strange because it is in a public park but then again it is New Orleans. Lol

Every time I go out I get at least one bullet.... I have a spot by the lake where I found 8 .40 cal shells, and I found all 8 slugs about 50 yards away.....

I go around the lake too. I found this one yesterday in City Park. My first 3 ringer. Would you know what era?

If it looks fuzzy to you, it looks worse for us.

But, it does appear to be a fuzzy bullet that struck a wool sweater.

I find fired and live rounds every day in Bodymore. Recently I found a site with quite a few 50 caliber bullets and cool relics. The detector loves them. I presume the steel jacket and copper core make them ring up like silver for the detector. I have a jar full of bullets and shells from buckshot and 22 cal to 20 mm WW2 shells. Definitely not what I am after but I am glad to get some lead out of the environment lol.

We'll need an accurate measurement of the diameter in 100ths of an inch to id it.... it looks like there are ridges in the grooves though which would make it post 1880, and from the patina I'd think it's on the older end of the date range....

I would say fairly modern black powder rifle.
